This was the first time the UFC didn’t have a fight card in a long time and now we’re back to it again. So I won’t waste time and here we go:
Bellator 99 in Review
Main Event: Patricio Freire vs. Diego Nunes
Prediction: Freire by strikes. Result: Same. Freire had more momentum and Nunes was coming into this with three losses in his last five fights.
Co-main Event: Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Houston Alexander
Prediction: Matyushenko by decision. Result: Same. As I said Matyushenko has a more rounded fight game compared to striker Alexander.
Justin Wilcox vs. Akop Stepanyan
Prediction: Stepanyan by strikes. Result: Wilcox by submission. Wilcox rose to the occasion as a replacement and moved up the tournament.
Desmond Green vs. Frabricio Guerreiro
Prediction: Guerreiro by submission. Result: Guerreiro by decision. Guerreiro didn’t finish the fight but he knows how to win and did just that.
Andrew Fisher vs. Joe Taimanglo
Prediction: Taimanglo by submission. Result: Taimanglo by decision. Obviously ring rust was not a factor for the usually bantamweight fighter.
Overall score: 3/5; .6 prediction percentage. 1 for Freire and Matyushenko’s wins, 0.5 for Guerreiro’s win and 0.5 for Taimanglo’s win.
Now for the fight predictions:
Bellator 100 Predictions
Main Event: Ben Saunders vs. Douglas Lima
Prediction: Lima by strikes. Lima not only finished Saunders before, but has finished Saunder’s opponent Bryan Baker and fought Ben Askren.
Co-main Event:War Machine vs. Vaughn Anderson
Prediction: Anderson by strikes. Anderson has only one loss in his career compared to War Machine who’s also had legal trouble in the past.
Luis Melo, Jr. vs. Ron Kesler
Prediction: Melo by submission. Melo was preparing for a fight with Matthew Riddle and as a result, is ready compared to replacement Kesler.
Brent Weedman vs. Justin Baesman
Prediction: Weedman by strikes. Weedman has more experience in Bellator and can finish fights compared to Bellator newcomer Baesman.
Rick Hawn vs. Herman Terrado
Prediction: Hawn by strikes. Hawn maybe moving back up from lightweight but is still dangerous against the promotional newcomer Terrado.
UFC 165 Predictions
Main Event: Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson
Prediction: Jones by strikes. Gustafsson maybe a challenge but Jones has his game down to the point that he’ll pull off the win decisively.
Co-main Event: Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland
Prediction: Barao by submission. The Interim Champ in all likelihood will continue his undefeated streak into a fight with Dominick Cruz.
Brendan Schaub vs. Matt Mitrione
Prediction: Schaub by strikes. Schaub is a heavyweight standout and will probably beat fellow former NFL player Mitrione with more experience.
Costa Philippou vs. Francis Carmont
Prediction: Carmont by submission. Carmont is riding a ten fight win streak including five in the UFC and doesn’t look like he’ll be stopping.
Pat Healy vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Prediction: Nurmagomedov by strikes. Healy is coming off a marijuana suspension whereas Nurmagomedov is undefeated and well rounded.
