After watching Bellator 106: Alvarez vs. Chandler II, we can all agree it was an awesome fight. But everyone has their own opinion on who won. Alvarez was given the nod via split decision in a very close back and forth battle.

I had the fight via split for Eddie as well, but I still think the third round was really close and the fight could have went either way. I still think the “school yard effect” had something to do with the outcome.

Chandler’s face could have been his demise but I still don’t think Chandler dominated like some spectators out there believe. Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson took to twitter about 8 hours and let the new Bellator champ know exactly how he feels.

Just watched #ChandlerVsAlvarezII from Saturday…I was thoroughly entertained for 25mins…watched on mute, I had it 4-1 for Chandler.

I don’t know how Henderson had it 4-1 for Chandler. Some fighters should stick to just fighting.

Alvarez then commented back

@BensonHenderson I know you cut off the sound when u watched but did you cut out the Video off Too ??? 4-1 Chandler damn! big Homie

~ Benson Henderson ~

@Ealvarezfight no disrespect bruh…like I said tho, helluva scrap, u 2 are warriors…I will admit, I’m no judge, way too hard a job.

~ Edward Alvarez ~

@BensonHenderson judging is purely Subjective wrestlers score for wrestlers strikers for strikers Bjj for Bjj I ain’t mad at cha man !!

Alvarez and Bendo don’t seem to dislike one another, but you can bet if Alvarez ever gets to the UFC, that he will definitely want a piece of the former UFC champion after those statements.

~ Final Thought ~

With social networking at an all time high, I can’t get mad at anybody who speaks their mind. It’s still freedom of speech. The problem I have with those statements is the implied ignorance. Benson has the right to voice his opinion, but saying what he did is only asking for a fight or trouble.

We can all agree that no one won that fight 4-1. That fight was way too close to be a 4-1. When Benson said he isn’t a judge, that’s an understatement. Maybe he should worry more about getting back to his winning ways, and not get jealous that two guys put on a better fight than he will ever be involved in.

Just because he knows he isn’t an exciting fighter, doesn’t mean he needs to attack the ones that are. I hope Alvarez and Benson meet in the future. Then Bendo will actually know what it feels like to be in an exciting fight.
