~ (1)Demetrious Johnson (17-2-1) ~

Arguably, he is the fastest man in the UFC. He recently proved that against John Dodson when the two went to war in a highly fast paced battle that left Johnson the reigning defending champion due to his seemingly better cardio. Johnson continued his insane pace later in the rounds and stole the fight. He was scheduled to face John Moraga at the The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, but was sidelined due to an injury.

~ (2)John Dodson (14-6) ~

Disputably the second fastest man in the UFC and on top of his lightning fast moves, he has devastating power in his striking. Dodson used his speed and power in his most recent bout where he fell short to the current champion, losing via unanimous decision. This is the first loss for Dodson since joining the UFC and snapped his five-fight win streak.

~ (3)Joseph Benavidez (17-3) ~

Benavidez came up short in his title match against the current champion. He was out matched with speed and wrestling en route to his loss. Benavidez recovered with a victory over Ian McCall. Looking to put together a two fight winning streak, he faces Darren Uyenoyama next at UFC on Fox 7.

~ (4)John Moraga (13-1) ~

Moraga is on a 7 fight win streak. He made huge waves coming into the UFC in his first bout against Ulysses Gomes, besting him via KO (elbows and punches) then taking out Chris Cariaso via Submission (guillotine choke). Moraga was sent to face the current champion at the The Ultimate Fighter Finale 17, but is now without an opponent due to an injury to the champion. The future is unclear for Moraga at the moment.

~ (5)Darrell Montague (12-2) ~

Montague is riding a 3 fight winning streak. He has great striking mixing things up well and uses constant pressure to break his opponent’s will. Currently, Montague is not part of the UFC; however, keep your eyes peeled for this up and comer.

~ (6)Ian McCall (11-4-1) ~

McCall is riding a two fight losing streak.  First, McCall fought to a draw against the current champion. In their rematch, McCall lost a unanimous decision. He was looking to stay in the no.1 contender spot when he took the fight against Joseph Benavidez; however, Benavidez spoiled his plans and won that fight via unanimous decision. This is the first time McCall has lost two in a row.

~ (7)Louis Gaudinot (6-2) ~

Known for his guillotine choke, Gaudinot used his superior grappling in his last bout to come from behind and take out John Lineker. Guadinot is sidelined currently due to an undisclosed injury.

~ (8)John Lineker (20-6) ~

Once holding a 13 fight win streak, Lineker lost his UFC debut but showed the world why he deserved to be in the octagon is his last bout winning via unanimous decision against Yasuhiro Urushitani. Look for Lineker to put together a two-fight win streak when he faces Azamat Gashimov welcoming him to the 125lb division at UFC on FX 8.

~ (9)Jussier Da Silva (14-2) ~

Da Silva was on a 5 fight winning streak winning the last 4 of his 5 by submission. His 5 fight winning streak was snapped by John Dodson via TKO in Da Silva’s UFC debut. Da Silva will look to get a win against his next opponent, Chris Cariaso, at UFC on FX 8.

~ (10)Yasuhiro Urushitani (19-6-6) ~

During his UFC debut, Urushitani was brutally knocked unconscious by Joseph Benavidez. He also lost his second UFC fight against John Lineker. Look for Urushitani to pick up the pieces and go back to the drawing board for his next bout and get that UFC win. Urushitani is not scheduled for a fight at this time.
