First, it was GSP sidelined for over a year with an injury with fans highly anticipating his return. Then last month, we finally got GSP back in action and he was put to a true test against Carlos Condit and almost was finished. After the fight, GSP claimed he needed a well deserved vacation.

Vacation!? Really? You haven’t fought in over a year. At the UFC 154 presser, Dana White made it clear that he was making the “super fight” between GSP and Silva in late May 2013. GSP has done  everything in his power to make sure this fight doesn’t happen. This brings me back to my first opinion of GSP when I first saw him fight Ivan Menjivar in his debut fight, GSP doesn’t care about the crowd or fans. The fans want the “super fight” and GSP doesn’t actually want to fight, he just wants to take you down for “the five round hump”.

GSP has denied Hendricks, turned down the Silva fight (for now) and is letting his emotions get the best of him. GSP wants and will get his hands on Nick Diaz next. I’m sick of Jones, Silva, GSP and other top fighters just getting to pick their fights. This just proves my point that the UFC needs the tournament feature like Bellator so fighters can actually earn title shots.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Diaz brothers fan and can’t wait for this fight. If GSP thinks he is just going to be able to take down a master at BJJ and lay on him for five rounds, he has another thing coming. GSP is the biggest joke in the UFC in my opinion and I’m never impressed by his performances.

Johnny Hendricks has been slowly making a name for himself and many feel if GSP wasn’t going to take the Silva fight, then he would be respectful and give Hendricks the title shot. Nope! Denied! Apparently GSP doesn’t want a guy in Hendricks who has been knocking out top competition or a guy like Silva who we all know comes to finish fights. Instead, GSP wants a guy who has already lost to the man he just beat at UFC 154. I hope Diaz smashes GSP. GSP might be a future hall-of-famer one day, but will always be a pretender to me.
