After Bellator 97 this past Wednesday, the world was shocked by “the fight everyone has been waiting for.” I haven’t been living under a rock for 15 years, so who is this everyone? I have never heard anyone say they wanted to see Rampage Jackson versus Tito Ortiz, even in their prime.

Bellator is smart by grabbing the UFC leftovers and trying to make a gourmet meal, the problem is no one wants yesterdays dinner for dessert. When Bellator first announced this fight, it looked like something a low level wrestling intern got ahold of, but it worked.

Now, after watching a weekly episode of Spike T.V.’s Impact Wrestling, something tasted sour. They were working the usual “who is behind the curtain” angle and had everyone guessing, who is the mystery man?

When it was revealed at the end of the show to be none other than Tito himself, it had all of us fight fans wondering, if no one wanted to see this fight in the first place, will the wrestling angle really pay dividends?
