Thanks again to J. Sutton for the results for this week of Friday Night Smackdown.

It’s getting close to WrestleMania, and the road there has been a bumpy one. From The Real Americans and The Shield‘s potential break-ups, to Triple H making the main event a triple threat either way. Two weeks ago on Raw we saw Triple H dismantle Daniel Bryan. Bryan suffered a real shoulder injury. He was not on this past week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, and again did not show up for Friday Night Smackdown. How will this injury play out at WrestleMania?

This week’s edition of Smackdown took place at the TD Garden in Boston. After a shaky night on Raw, how would Smackdown rebound? Monday Night Raw felt flat until the third hour. Could Smackdown just last at two hours? Fans tuned in to see their favorite superstars. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk weren’t there, so they had to settle for second best. The main event pitted The Big Show against the newest heel, “The Eater of Worlds,” Bray Wyatt.

The Night started off with one of the most hated men in the WWE right now in Batista. Batista came out a cut another boring promo. He told the fans that they begged him to come back only to BOO him. He goes to discuss Daniel Bryan only to be interrupted by Triple H. The Game tells Batista to leave his wife out of this. Triple H tells Batista he created “The Animal” and he just quit and went home (referring to CM Punk once again). He says he wants to see “The Animal” back. This leads to him booking a match with Batista against Sheamus later on in the night. All this is, is an attempt to start tension with former faction members. The creative team wants to use the Evolution angle, but no one cares. Not very many were even fans of that faction if you look back at it.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins) take on 3MB (Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal). This match actually showed quite a bit of offence from 3MB before they lost. Rollins just keeps looking better and better. I wish he would get the push he deserves. He deserves it more than any other Shield member. Yes, that’s you Roman Reigns.

After the match, Kane and The New Age Outlaws come out and book the Shield in another match against Ryback and Curtis Axel. This match also showcased The Shield’s skills. Rollins hit a nasty finisher from a Perfect-Plex reversal. Rollins is nasty good. Can you say “the new CM Punk” anyone? Okay, maybe not yet, but he is way good and underestimated. Just like Punk was so many years ago. Rumors have it that the Shield (Ambrose and Rollins) will turn on Roman at WrestleMania 30 and form a two man tag team. If this is true, I can see why they have been putting Dean and Seth in tag team matches the past weeks. They look good together, so it could work. I wish Rollins would get a face turn to be honest.

Sin Cara (the fake one) defeated Damien Sandow in a slightly boring/filler match. Sandow was once a big player and Money in the bank winner. Now, he is jobbing to a guy who isn’t even the real character? Makes no sense. The Creative team drops the ball again in my opinion.

Renee Young interviewed The Big Show about his match with Bray Wyatt. Show tells Renaa that there is truth behind what he has been saying about John Cena.

Fandango vs. Goldust. No Cody Rhodes for this one. This allows Summer Rae to distract Goldust so Fandango can get the win. This is another case of bad writing. Fandango beat Chris Jericho and Mania last year. Now look at him. Another waste of talent.

Batista vs. Sheamus. A decent match. Batista gets DQ’ed for a illegal chair shot. He then grabs the microphone and asks Triple H if he’s happy.

Bray Wyatt cuts another stellar Promo about how we all wear masks. Bray is getting the ball and running with it. With a win over Cena at Mania he could really be the next big thing heel style. He could be the Cena of the heels. Some love him and hate him, just like Cena.

The Bella Twins vs. A.J. Lee and Tamina SnukaVickie Guerrero was on commentary. The Bella’s get the win after tension between Lee and Snuka occur.

Santino and Emma go on a date. More filler. Santino “throws up” wine.

Jack Swagger vs. Jimmy Uso. A quick back and forth match that showcased both guys skills. Swagger gets the win with the ankle lock.

Mark Henry beats The Miz. Ehhhh

Lana and Alexander Rusov come out for another promo. All they remind me of is Rocky IV. Rusev is a beast in the ring though if you watch NXT.

Bray Wyatt defeats the Big Show with his finisher after Harper and Rowan interfere. The Wyatt family pose over the Big Show to close out Smackdown.
