Bantamweight Championship bout: Ronda Rousey vs. Sarah Kaufman:
Rousey is without a doubt the most talked about female fighter in all mma and is more popular than Gina Carano or Cris “Cyborg” these days.
She is a dangerous fighter, but her opponent is ready to spoil her fun and derail the Rousey “hype” train. Kaufman has good take-down defense, good jiu jitsu and will definitely have the advantage in the striking department.
Rousey’s judo is so scary and I believe if she wants this fight to go to the ground, it will. Kaufman has what it takes to beat the champ, I just don’t see it happening. Kaufman has won her last two fights by decision, and the only way I see her beating Rousey is if she keeps it striking and tries to test her cardio by taking the fight into deep waters.
Rousey’s cardio is good but it has yet to be tested. Rousey comes out there with killer instinct and always looks for the finish, and I see her finishing this fight late in the second. Prediction Rousey 2nd round submission
Strong words from the champ in the video below as she discusses the serious business she plans on dealing out in the cage.

Middleweight bout: Ronaldo Souza vs. Derek Brunson:
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners in the world and has dangerous bjj. He’s been in there against the likes of high level MMA competition such as Tim Kennedy (decision victory), Robbie Lawler (rear naked choke victory), Luke Rockhold (decision loss), Matt Lindland (arm triangle victory), Jason Miller (decision victory), and Gegard Mousasi (KO loss).
Derek Brunson is a former All American wrestler who works with Jackson’s MMA. He has only lost one professional mma bout, a decision to Kendall Grove. This will he Brunson’s biggest test of his career and he has all the tools to beat Souza.
If this turns into a ground war, it’s obviously going to be in the favor of Souza, but if Brunson can keep this fight on his feet using his wrestling, I see him having the advantage in the striking department. I’m going with the upset in this fight and I’m taking Brunson. Prediction Brunson TKO 2nd round.
Welterweight bout: Tarec Saffiedine vs. Roger Bowling:
Saffiedine has been on a roll as of late with his destruction of Scott Smith and Tyler Stinson. Tarec has superior striking, great technique, and is a top welterweight in Strikeforce. With another win under his belt, he is looking to earn a crack at Nate “The Great”
Marquardt, but will have to get by the tough striking and heavy hands of Bowling. Bowling is one of the most powerful strikers and has put the Strikeforce welterweight division on notice. He comes out like a predator always looking to finish early and his resume speaks for itself with a plethora of 1st round knock outs.
This is a really hard fight for me to pick because these fighters are similar but so different. I see Bowling coming out to finish in style like always, and Tarec to try and put him on his back early and often. If Bowling can avoid letting Tarec work his game and avoid a decision loss, I do see him getting an early tko/ko stoppage. Prediction: Bowling TKO 2nd round
Middleweight bout: Lumumba Sayers vs. Anthony Smith:
Both these guys will be coming to finish and make a huge statement. This fight will be an all-around war and someone is going to sleep. Enough said…… Prediction: Sayers KO 2nd round
Light Heavyweight bout: Ovince St. Preux vs. T.J. Cook: OSP TKO 1st rd
