When Dan Hardy first entered the UFC, he carried a lot of hype and delivered. With three consecutive wins over Rory Markham, Marcus Davis and Mike Swick, Hardy was put to the test against GSP before suffering his first UFC loss. From there, Hardy suffered through a 3 fight losing streak with his UFC career on the line at UFC 146 against Duane Ludwig.

The Hardy of old  returned and knocked out “Bang” Ludwig in the first round and got Hardy fans really excited about the return of “The Outlaw”. Hardy then stepped up against Amir Sadollah tonight in the co-main event at UFC on Fuel TV 5 and showed his evolution as an mma fighter. Hardy looked a little slow in the first round, but showed up in the second with multiple combos of punches, and then shocked the mma community when he started landing successful take-downs.

Hardy looked comfortable on the ground, and instead of getting up, he delivered devastating ground and pound. At the end of the fight he walked away with a unanimous decision victory over Sadollah. If Hardy can keep evolving as an overall mma fighter, the man that was once about to be fired could be at the top of the mountain looking for another title shot in the future.
