Please note due to suspension Ali Bagautinov is ineligible for the rankings. Also note the previous rankings (6/26/14) are in parenthesis:

1. Demetrious Johnson (1)

Demetrious Johnson is now set to defend his UFC Flyweight Championship against underdog Chris Cariaso at UFC 177 on August 30th. His last match can definitely be considered a success considering he controlled Ali Bagautinov who was apparently roided up.

 2. Joseph Benavidez (tied 2)

As of right now Joseph Benavidez has nothing scheduled, but a win against Tim Elliot at UFC 172 in April did give him a good rebound. However another title shot will most likely require another win or two before the UFC approves a match against Demetrious Johnson.

 3. John Dodson (tied 2)

Supposedly John Dodson was going to face Demetrious Johnson for the title next, however an injury to Dodson’s knee will set that back. Hopefully this will silence Dodson’s accusations that Johnson is dodging him which certainly is not the case, especially at the present.

 4. Ian McCall (4)

Ian McCall recently defeated Brad Pickett at UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Brandao on July 19th which added to his momentum. However, a third fight against UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson will probably require a few more victories and opponents.

 5. John Lineker (8)

Following John Lineker‘s dismal performance against Ali Bagautinov, Lineker rebounded against Alptekin Ozkilic on July 16th. He also apparently got his weight situation taken care of as he made weight without too many issues, making weight for a second time in a row.

 6. John Moraga (6)

John Moraga will probably be out of commission for a while following his broken nose at the hands of John Dodson at UFC Fight Night 42.

 7. Jussier da Silva (7)

Originally scheduled to fight at the now cancelled UFC 176, Jussier da Silva will be facing off against Zach Makovsky on August 16th.

 8. Zach Makovsky (9)

Zach Makovsky will be facing Jussier da Silva at UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. St. Preux on August 16th, a two week delay from UFC 176.

 9. Chris Cariaso (N/A)

There is no doubt that Chris Cariaso is the clear underdog in his upcoming championship match against Demetrous Johnson on August 30th. However, this is also likely a match put together when John Dodson injured his leg thus preventing a rematch at the present time.

 10. Brad Pickett (10)

Brad Pickett lost his last match to Ian McCall and there is no word as to when he will fight again for his much desired rebound victory.
