Please note that Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is ineligible for the rankings due to his nine month UFC imposed suspension for a positive TRT test. This ineligibility will last between 15 to 30 days. Also note that the rankings were last updated April 7th and those rankings are in parenthesis:

~ 1 (1) ~

Cain Velasquez

The UFC Champion dominated challengers Antonio Silva at UFC 160 and Junior Dos Santos at UFC 166 in rematches but is now out because of shoulder surgery. No word as to when he will come back though later in the year was mentioned as a possible date.

~ 2 (3) ~

Daniel Cormier

Cain Velasquez‘s American Kickboxing Academy teammate, Daniel Cormier, imposed his will this year on Frank Mir and Roy Nelson and now he’s set to face Rashad Evans at UFC 170. Of note is that once he does that he will be considered a light heavyweight.

~ 3 (7) ~

Fabricio Werdum

Following a coaching stint on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil season 2, Fabricio Werdum defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in a rematch from back in Pride. He should be facing Travis Browne sometime soon for a possible title shot match, however Browne needs to sign a contract.

~ 4 (2) ~

Junior dos Santos

Junior dos Santos had a good fight win against Mark Hunt at UFC 166 but was then dominated by Cain Velasquez in their rubber match for the heavyweight championship at UFC 166. The question now is what does he do after having been dominated twice by Velasquez.

~ 5 (N/A) ~

Travis Browne

Arguably the one of the breakout fighters of the year in 2013, Travis Browne pulled upsets against Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night 26 and Josh Barnett at UFC 168. He should be facing Fabricio Werdum for a title shot once he signs a new contract with the UFC.

~ 6 (8) ~

Josh Barnett

Upon returning to the UFC, Josh Barnett made a splash by knocking out Frank Mir but then lost to up and comer Travis Browne at UFC 168.

~ 7 (5) ~

Frank Mir

2013 was not a good year for Frank Mir who lost to Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett. Now he’s in a do or die match with Alistair Overeem.

~ 8 (6) ~

Alistair Overeem

Alistair Overeem like his UFC 169 opponent didn’t have a good 2013 either when after his Bigfoot loss he was upset by Travis Browne.

~ 9 (9) ~

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

Big Nog’s 2013 wasn’t a good one like the above mentioned fighters as he lost to Fabricio Werdum by submission after TUF: Brazil.

~ 10 (10) ~

Mark Hunt

Hunt’s UFC 160 fight with JDS didn’t go so well but he put on a fight of the year brawl with Antonio Silva. Sadly Silva used TRT wrong.
