Please note that due to inactivity Dominick Cruz is ineligible for rankings. Also note the rankings are voted on and previous are in parenthesis:

1. Jon Jones (1)

After very much speculation for a while, Jon Jones is now confirmed to be facing Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 178 on September 27th. However, the agreement didn’t come without some negotiating between Jones, President Dana White and Zuffa CEO Lorenzo Fertitta.

2. Cain Velasquez (3)

Cain Velasquez supposedly finished filming opposite Fabricio Werdum for the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, leaving the airing of the show to take place. After that the coaches fight will take place between Velasquez and Werdum at UFC 180.

3. Jose Aldo (2)

Having sworn vengeance for his Nova Uniao teammate Renan Barao, Jose Aldo will be facing Team Alpha Male member Chad Mendes in a UFC Featherweight Championship rematch. Just the same it could be an exciting fight and should be watched just the same.

4. Demetrious Johnson (4)

Demetrious Johnson maybe called boring because he didn’t finish Ali Bagautinov, but he successfully defended his title just the same. Next in line will either be a rematch between himself and John Dodson or the winner of the Ian McCall and Brad Pickett match.

5. Chris Weidman (5)

As far anyone knows, Chris Weidman is currently on track for his UFC 175 match against Lyoto Machida on the fourth of July weekend. This will show how Weidman fairs against an elite fighter on a similar level to Anderson Silva and is in fact teammates in Black House.

6. Johny Hendricks (6)

Johny Hendricks has supposedly returned to training following successful surgery on his bicep and is now waiting for a viable contender.

7. Ronda Rousey (9)

While Ronda Rousey will be fighting Alexis Davis on the same fight card as Chris Weidman, the questions is how much of a fight it’ll be. Should she win and Can Zingano win her first comeback match, the two will probably face off later this year.

8. Anthony Pettis (7)

Anthony Pettis will probably start coaching on The Ultimate Fighter season 20 in the next week according to some media sources.

9. T.J. Dillashaw (8)

Supposedly Dana White is considering giving former bantamweight champion Renan Barao an immediate title shot which isn’t confirmed.

10. Renan Barao (10)

Renan Barao really should be looking to get a rebound win, however Dana White is considering giving him an immediate title rematch.

The following fighter received votes and as a result is considered a contender for the pound for pound rankings: Junior dos Santos.
