Please note that due to inactivity Cat Zingano, Carla Esparza, and Michelle Waterson are all ineligible for the rankings. Also note that the rankings are voted on by a panel of MMA Freak writers and that the previous rankings (5/1/14) are listed in parenthesis:

1. Ronda Rousey (1)

Ronda Rousey is set to defend her UFC Bantamweight Championship against upcoming opponent Alexis Davis at UFC 175 on July 5th where we will see if Davis is indeed dangerous. Rousey is without a doubt the favorite and her improved striking game makes her bad.

2. Cristiane Justino (2)

The word is that Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino will be dropping down to bantamweight to challenge Lauren Murphy for her Invicta Fighting Championship Bantamweight title then face go over to the UFC and challenge Ronda Rousey for her UFC Bantamweight Championship.

3. Barb Honchak (6)

It can only be assumed that with the recent deal between Invicta FC and UFC Fight Pass that Barb Honchak will fight later this summer in defense of her Invicta Fighting Championship Flyweight title against a to be determined opponent, but expect it to be a great fight again.

4. Alexis Davis (4)

Alexis Davis needs to come into this fight ready to fight hard and stay on her toes. If she fights like she did against Jessica Eye then it will not be much of a match with Ronda Rousey winning.

5. Sara McMann (5)

In reality, Sara McMann‘s fight with Ronda Rousey back in February may have stopped early so a rebound could see her back up top.

6. Marloes Coenen (10)

Marloes Coenen should go the weight class that Cristiane Justino doesn’t go, at least until she leaves to the UFC if and when it happens.

7. Lauren Murphy (N/A)

As is the case with all of the Invicta FC Champions, Bantamweight Champion Lauren Murphy will probably fight sometime in late summer.

8. Sarah Kaufman (7)

Now that Sarah Kaufman has her first official UFC win, she can get to looking at fighting a higher level ranked opponent to build herself up.

9. Miesha Tate (8)

Miesha Tate now has her first UFC win but due to the fact that she’s lost to the champion twice she can only build herself back up again.

10. Jessica Aguilar (9)

Unlike all the other top straw weights in MMA, Jessica Aguilar has competed twice this year and got a recent win against Emi Fujino.

Contenders

The following fighter received votes for the rankings and is considered a contender in the pound for pound rankings: Jessica Penne.
