Leading up the the last semi-final match up, Jessica Rakoczy expresses how much she misses her son because of the fact this is the first training camp she could not bring him to. During practice her recurring shoulder injury becomes an issue. After taking a hard hit from Chris Beal, she has a check up by the doctor who says she just needs to take it easy. As a result she does some light boxing and grappling with coach Ronda Rousey and with Edmond Tarverdyan. Despite the injures she is ready for the fight though her undersized frame is brought up.

Raquel Pennington is also training for the last fight as well as working with coach Meisha Tate on the game plan. The developed game plan is to bully Rokoczy with Pennington’s freakish strength and grappling. However, she has an injury while grappling with Louis Fisette in which a bone in her hand is dislocated and has to be reset by the doctor. The game plan is then revised to concentrate on taking Rokoczy down and ending the fight as quickly as possible. This is despite the fact that Pennington does have a boxing background.

The fight’s first round goes to Pennington who is able to keep the stand up game close and is able to take down Rokoczy down towards the end of the round. However the second and third rounds go in favor of Rokoczy. Dana White in commenting on the fight said that Pennington didn’t show up for the fight mentally and that is what cost her as she was not aggressive enough. Pennington herself admits that she had a mental block and chocked, as a result she wasn’t able to stick to the game plan. Sadly Tate can’t find the words to console Pennington and blames herself for not being able to comfort her.

Following the fight the finalists for both divisions come into the Octagon to face off against each other. White cannot tell who will win in either fights as he believes both match ups are close. However, there is a slight advantage towards Julianna Pena but Rokoczy is mentioned as arguably the most improved fighter of the season. Then when the two coaches face off, Tate decides to pull out some socks with a middle finger on them as retribution for Rousey’s constantly flipping her off. Rousey throws the socks aside in irritation, making things that much more intense for their fight on December 28th.
