UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar takes place at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas this Saturday,Super Bowl weekend. The whole card is stacked from bottom to top and the UFC is ready for a wild weekend.

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (9-3-1 UFC) will make his featherweight debut against current featherweight champion Jose Aldo (3-0 UFC). Edgar is dropping down from lightweight to featherweight after a double-whammy of decision losses to Benson Henderson at UFC 144 and 150.

Not long after his second loss, he made (plus Dana really wanted it) the decision to drop to 145 pounds and was booked to fill in for Erik Koch in a title fight with Aldo at UFC 153. An Aldo injury pushed the fight to this weekend.

The card also features some top notch fights, plus the anticipated return of a couple fighters. Rashad Evans (12-2-1 UFC) will make his return since last fighting at UFC 145. He will step up against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (3-2 UFC) in the co-main event.

The biggest return, and I mean biggest return, has to be the return of the possible number one contender for the heavyweight title. Heavyweight star Alistair Overeem (1-0 UFC) returns to take on Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (1-1 UFC).

Also starring on the card is top welterweight Jon Fitch (14-2-1 UFC) as he is set to square off against rising welterweight Demian Maia (11-4 UFC). And top flyweights Joseph Benavidez (3-1 UFC) and Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall (0-1-1) will do battle.
