Saturday we witnessed arguably the best fight card of the year with arguably the best fight of the year to date. Let’s dive into this right away:

UFC 166: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos 3 in Review

Main Event: Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos

Prediction: Velasquez by strikes. Result: Same. Velasquez proved he’s a step above JDS by dominating him the entire fight and finishing him.

Co-main Event: Daniel Cormier vs. Roy Nelson

Prediction: Cormier by strikes. Result: Cormier by decision. Cormier controlled the entire fight but Nelson is a hard man to finish for anyone.

Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez

Prediction: Melendez by strikes. Result: Melendez by decision. These two fighters put on a brawl that arguably earned fight of the year status.

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Shawn Jordan

Prediction: Jordan by strikes. Result: Gonzaga by strikes. Gonzaga can never be underestimated and he proved it Saturday with a knockout.

John Dodson vs. Darrell Montague

Prediction: Montague by submission. Result: Dodson by strikes. Dodson is a dangerous striker and just shot himself back into title contention.

Overall score: 2.5/5; .5 prediction percentage. Velasquez got 1 for his win over JDS, Cormier got 0.5, Melendez got 0.5, and Gonzaga got 0.5.

Bellator 104 in Review

Main Event: War Machine vs. Ron Kesler

Prediction: War Machine by strikes. Result: Kesler by submission. Kesler’s been the dark horse of the welterweight tournament this season.

Co-main Event: Brent Weedman vs. Rick Hawn

Prediction: Hawn by strikes. Result: Hawn by decision. Hawn knows how to win fights and once again made it into the tournament finals.

Kendall Grove vs. Joe Vedepo

Prediction: Vedepo by submission. Result: Grove by decision. Grove won in his promotional debut and should do well in the next tournament.

Eric Prindle vs. Peter Graham

Prediction: Prindle by strikes. Result: Graham by decision. Graham is no slouch and proved it against former heavyweight contender Prindle.

Overall score: 0.5/4; .125 prediction percentage. 0.5 for Rick Hawn’s win by decision. This has probably been my worst prediction to date.

Bellator 105 Predictions

Main Event: Alexander Sarnavskiy vs. Ricardo Tirloni

Prediction: Sarnavskiy by submission. Sarnavskiy is a submission specialist with most of his fights ending via this method. Expect it again.

Co-main Event: Saad Awad vs. Will Brooks

Prediction: Awad by submission. Awad won in their first meeting and it’s likely that he will win this second time. However, that’s to be seen.

Siala-Mou “Might Mo” Siliga vs. Ron Sparks

Prediction: Sparks by strikes. Both men are aging fighters but Sparks has more MMA experience while Mighty Mo is a kick boxer by trade.

Eugene Fadiora vs. Andreas Spang

Prediction: Fadiora by submission. The incoming Brit and BAMMA veteran is looking to make a splash at his Bellator promotional debut.

UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Munoz

Main Event: Lyoto Machida vs. Mark Munoz

Prediction: Machida by decision. Machida is making his middleweight debut but at the same time knows how to win fights most of the time.

Co-main Event: Ross Pearson vs. Melvin Guillard

Prediction: Guillard by strikes. Guillard hits hard for a lightweight and his last match proved how dangerous he still is. Pearson though can win.

Jimi Manuwa vs. Ryan Jimmo

Prediction: Manuwa by strikes. Manuwa is undefeated including his two UFC fights and it looks like he will stay that way for the near future.

Norman Parke vs. Jon Tuck

Prediction: Tuck by submission. The rising Ultimate Fighter alumni is still undefeated and is going up against fellow TUF alum, Parke.

Alessio Sakara vs. Nicholas Musoke

Prediction: Sakara by strikes. Sakara is in a due or die situation where he maybe looking for a new job should he loose to newcomer Musoke.

Phil Harris vs. John Lineker

Prediction: Lineker by strikes. Lineker is looking good in the UFC so far but his tendency to miss weight could be a bit of a problem again.
