So we had probably one of the greatest upset shockers take place this weekend and coming up is a UFC double header. Let’s take a look:

UFC 173: Barao vs. Dillashaw

Main Event: Renan Barao #1 Bantamweight vs. T.J. Dillashaw #6 Bantamweight

Prediction: Barao by submission. Result: Dillashaw by strikes. Probably the greatest upset in MMA history even topping Weidman vs. Silva.

Co-main Event: Dan Henderson #6 Light Heavyweight vs. Daniel Cormier #4 Light Heavyweight

Prediction: Cormier by strikes. Result: Cormier by submission. Both men are accomplished wrestlers but age made the difference this time.

Robbie Lawler #2 Welterweight vs. Jake Ellenberger #8 Welterweight

Prediction: Ellenberger by strikes. Result: Lawler by strikes. Ellenberger’s time away may have taken a toll and Lawler is back to contender.

Takeya Mizugaki #7 Bantamweight vs. Francisco Rivera

Prediction: Rivera by strikes. Result: Mizugaki by decision. Mizugaki utilized superior wrestling and good striking to grab the decision.

Jamie Varner vs. James Krause

Prediction: Krause by submission. Result: Krause by strikes (technically). I’d argue that Varner’s ankle injury is comparable to Silva’s leg.

Overall score: 1.5/5; 0.3 prediction percentage. 0.5 for Cormier’s submission win, 0.5 for Lawler’s win by strikes, and 0.5 for Krause’s win.

UFC Fight Night: Munoz vs. Mousasi

Main Event: Mark Munoz #9 Middleweight vs. Gegard Mousasi

Prediction: Mousasi by strikes. Both men need a rebound win after loosing to Lyoto Machida but Mousasi has the experience advantage.

Co-main Event: Francis Carmont vs. C.B. Dollaway

Prediction: Dollaway by strikes. Dollaway has superior wrestling and with his striking could easily ground and pound Carmont to win.

Luke Barnatt vs. Sean Strickland

Prediction: Barnatt by submission. Barnatt is officially undefeated and has a well rounded fight game to keep that winning streak alive.

Tom Niinimaki vs. Niklas Backstrom

Prediction: Niinimaki by submission. Niinimaki is riding a twelve fight winning streak and has a well rounded fight game to go along with it.

The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale: Miocic vs. Maldonado

Main Event: Stipe Miocic #7 Heavyweight vs. Fabio Maldonado

Prediction: Miocic by strikes. The fact of the matter is Maldonado is moving up in weight against a fighter who has been on fire as of late.

Co-main Event: Vitor Miranda vs. Antonio Carlos Junior

Prediction: Miranda by strikes. Miranda not only has more experience in MMA but has also fought in kickboxing for a long time.

Marcio Alexandre Junior vs. Warlley Alves

Prediction: Alves by submission. Alves has been more consistant in finishing his opponents during his time on the TUF Brazil house.

Demian Maia #6 Welterweight vs. Alexander Yakovlev

Prediction: Yakovlev by submission. Yakovlev is well rounded and has submission skills that could potentially out do Maia’s quite possibly.

Rony Mariano Bezerra vs. Robbie Peralta

Prediction: Bezerra by submission. The TUF Brazil winner has superior submission skills to help him gain the upper hand and submission.
