Episode 11
Mairon Santos comes by the house as the winner of the previous season of The Ultimate Fighter and encourages the fighters in their final fight prep and what they need to absorb in the house.
Joseph Morales and Imanol Rodriguez then talk to their respective coaches, Chael Sonnen and Daniel Cormier about their strategies for the fights.
Both fighters are then allowed to converse with their respective families via zoom. Morales becomes emotional while skyping with his family, particularly with the fact that his wife and sons gives him motivation.
At the weigh-ins, both fighters make weight.
Round 1
The first round consists of mostly Morales taking Rodriguez down and controlling him to work ground and pound and submissions.
Round 2
Round two is more back and forth and closer as Rodriguez institutes more punches and actually reverses a take down.
Round 3
Judging results in the fight going to a third round. Morales gets a take down but Rodriguez gets out and then proceeds to get a take down himself and controls Morales for essentially the rest of the fight.
Result – Joseph Morales gets a split decision against Imanol Rodriguez.
As a result, Morales will represent Team Sonnen against Team Cormier’s Alibi Idiris in the flyweight finale.
Episode 12
With only one fight left, Dana White and coaches Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen take the fighters to a night at a Chinese fusion restaurant to mingle and enjoy their respective company.
Some fighters don’t want to sample the duck whereas said same fighters has eaten capibara in the past.
Also of note is that Team Sonnen acts professional during the dinner whereas Team Cormier is partying.
Both fighters talk to their families over zoom and are encouraged by their conversations.
At weigh-ins both fighters make weight.
Round 1
Daniil Donchenko is able to use his superior striking to keep Matt Dixon at distance. He dominates until there is a back to the head call. Dixon decides to continue fighting and Donchenko subsequently wins in a knee to TKO victory sequence.
As a result, the welterweight finale is all Team Cormier between Daniil Donchenko and Rodrigo Sezinando.
The finale is set at UFC 319 on Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
*It should be noted that due to an injury to Sezinando during fight week, the welterweight finale has been postponed to a later date to be determined.
