Episode 10 – 7/29/25

Dana White at the beginning of the episode notes that this will be the only fight between teammates, in this case between Team Cormier teammates.

Due to the fact that Team Sonnen doesn’t have a fighter in the first welterweight semifinal, Chael Sonnen and Colby Covington bring the team members together to meet magician Chris Angel before the show and then watch the show. Chris gives both men a shout out during the show and brings them up.

Chael talks about how this is a good way for the fighters to relax. Many of the fighters talk about their personal experiences watching Chris at some point or another. Joseph Morales for example, does the thumb coming off trick and mentions that he did that for his children as a simple party trick.

Before training for their fight begins, coach Daniel Cormier proposes that fighters Rodrigo Sezinando and Jeff Creighton rotate between training stations, but Rodrigo prefers just training with specific fighters.

Both fighters choose their own coaches to help them for this specific fight and fighters for their sparring and training, while Cormier chooses to stay completely neutral from the training. He, however, notes how he would coach both fighters on their game plans.

As a reward for their accomplishments of getting into the semifinals, both fighters get to call their families and have a conversation with them.

Jeff Creighton first talks with his wife and then with his family as a whole afterwards. He talks to his wife and asks if she got the arranged Valentine’s Day gift that he sent her and how she was dealing with his absence.

Rodrigo talks with just his mother and has a breakdown and reaffirms that he needs to fight to help support her.

Both fighters make weight and on fight day Cormier arranges for both fighters to get separate bedrooms.

Round one consists of Rodrigo taking down Jeff and controlling him with standups and up until the end of the round when Jeff gets up and throws some punches before the horn.

The second round has Jeff starting to control the match with take downs and attempts at submissions, but Rodrigo is able to reverse it and controls most of the round.

Finally, round three consists of Rodrigo again, taking down Jeff and controlling him for the most part.

Judges call it for Rodrigo.

The next match is Team Cormier’s Imanol Rodriguez versus Joseph Morales of Team Sonnen for the flyweight semifinal.
