Due to inactivity, Cain Velasquez is ineligible for the rankings. Also previous rankings (2/6/15) are in parenthesis:
1) Jon Jones (1)
Jon Jones will be defending his title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 on May 23rd on Memorial Day Weekend. Johnson maybe Jones greatest challenge to date considering his dismantling of Alexander Gustafsson.
2) Jose Aldo (2)
There is already some tension between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor leading up to their UFC 189 battle. McGregor might be Aldo’s greatest challenge considering his spectacular striking and ability to finish fights.
3) Demetrious Johnson (3)
Demetrious Johnson will once again be defending his title, this time against Kyoji Horiguchi at UFC 186. Originally scheduled as the co-main event, both fighters are now the main event following T.J. Dillashaw‘s issues.
4) Chris Weidman (4)
After several delays due to injuries, Chris Weidman will finally face Vitor Belfort at UFC 187 on May 23rd. It will be interesting to see how Belfort is adjusting to the lack of testosterone replacement therapy in a five round fight.
5) Ronda Rousey (6)
Ronda Rousey is now set for a collision course against Bethe Correia in her native Brazil at UFC 190. Both women are undefeated and Correia is the next logical choice for Rousey unless Cristiane Justino comes down.
6) T.J. Dillashaw (7)
Unfortunately due to a rib injury, T.J. Dillashaw had to bow out of his scheduled rematch against Renan Barao. This isn’t a major injury so Dillashaw probably won’t be out for an extended period of time.
7) Robbie Lawler (8)
Robbie Lawler is set for a rematch against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 as part of International Fight Week. This is a chance for both fighters to put on a Fight of the Night performance once again just like their last bout.
8) Rafael dos Anjos (N/A)
After pulling probably one of the greatest upsets of the year, Rafael dos Anjos is now the UFC Lightweight Champion. He now awaits the winner of the Donald Cerrone vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov bout at UFC 187.
9) Anthony Pettis (5)
Anthony Pettis for some reason didn’t seem like himself, or was simply out witted by underdog Rafael dos Anjos. Pettis will probably rebound, but he needs to figure out how to keep his head together for major fights.
10) Johny Hendricks (9)
Following a successful rebound, Johny Hendricks has voiced his desire to eventually fight for the title again. Time will tell who he will be facing next and whether it’ll be for a title shot.
Contenders
The following fighters received votes and are considered contenders in the rankings category: Fabricio Werdum
