The Jon Jones talk will never end after Dana White proclaimed UFC 151 as“The event Jon Jones and Greg Jackson murdered.” Now Jones has went on his twitter account to actually come out and blame Dan Henderson saying he screwed his knee up do to old age.
Granted Henderson is old and that was probably the case, Jones is taking the excuses overboard and becoming the new “hated” guy in the UFC. Even more so than Chael Sonnen if you can believe that.
Hate Sonnen or not, at least he tried to save an event, sacrificing his own career knowing that taking a fight with Jones on short notice would more that likely result in another loss.
Yet I don’t really blame Jones for not taking the Sonnen fight as I don’t think he deserved it. But sometimes you have to step up and be the champ, which includes working for the actual company that pays your bills. During a media conference call for the event, UFC president Dana White called it a “selfish” and “disgusting” decision.
In a twitter post, Jones also responded to a question asking whether or not he felt he was the most hated UFC champ in history. “I’m not here to be loved, I’m here to dominate,” said the 25-year-old champ.
Is this confirmation of his selfish ambitions or just the young champion being honest and proving that he really doesn’t care about his fans? Some will read too much into this statement and Jones doesn’t seem too care. Has Jon Jones made himself the most hated guy in the UFC?

I think whether he likes it or not, he has accepted the role of the new villain of the UFC and if he is not careful he might reach the point of no return. Jones is a great fighter and always puts on a good show, but if fans don’t even care about you anymore, who is going to be watching your fights?
The only Jones viewers I see in the future will be the ones watching hoping to see the champ get whats coming to him and suffer a loss or get finished in stylish fashion.
Luckily for Jones he is smart and is only accepting fights against guys with little strengths. Machida and Shogun could of stepped up, but knowing that another loss to Jones would more than likely be the last title shot for both, they have stepped aside at now we get to see an undeserving Vitor Belfort step back up to light heavyweight and challenge the champ.
Not only did Jones cancel a bunch of jobs/fights for UFC 151, but now has put a damper on the rest of the UFC 152 card as some major fans have already been protesting not watching UFC 152 based on Jones alone.
So, now the fighter that is being held responsible for cancelling UFC 151, might be held responsible for UFC 152’s bad ratings and the card hasn’t even happened yet. Jones has done this all to himself and before long, Tito Ortiz, Nick Diaz and Chael Sonnen might look like heroes compared to “Mr. Selfish” himself, Jon Jones.
