UFC on Fox: Rockhold vs Machida is in the record books and the card proved worthwhile with several slug-fests and finishers throughout. With hardly a week passing without a UFC it’s tough to pin down what fights to make moving forward. Here are three fights MMA Freak makes in the wake of UFC on Fox.

rockholdjacare

Jacare Souza vs Luke Rockhold

These two met in 2011 at Stikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov with Rockhold defeating Jacare by unanimous decision in a bout for the Stikeforce Middleweight Title. With Chris Weidman’s championship fight with Vitor Belfort around the corner, a Rockhold-Souza rematch to determine the new number one contender for the Middleweight title makes sense.

hollowayguida

Max Holloway vs. Clay Guida

Max Holloway picked apart Cub Swanson, completely controlling the match from start to finish, at UFC on Fox. Clay Guida bounced back from a submission loss and turned in a great performance against Robbie Peralta at UFC Fight Night: Mendes vs Lamas. With Holloway and Guida sitting at #9 and #10 respectively, this is a no brainer for UFC match-maker Joe Silva and could serve as a great test of Holloway’s grit.

stpreux manuwa

Jimi Manuwa vs. Ovince St. Preux

Jon Jones defends his title against Anthony Johnson May 23. St. Preux demolished Patrick Cummins in the first round at UFC on Fox and is only months removed from his absolute shellacking of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Jimi Manuwa fought to his first career decision victory at UFC Fight Night in Krakow, Poland last month. Both men have a sole loss in the UFC and a win by St. Preux makes him arguably the natural choice for a new #1 contender in the Light-Heavyweight division.
