Before the fight Claudia Gadelha talks about how she has confidence that Tatiana Suarez will win her first round match whereas Joanna Jedrzejczyk talks about how she has the same confidence in JJ Aldrich.
In her first training session back from being sick, Helen Harper hurts her elbow when she submits too late to an arm bar from Ashley Yoder. Joanna tries to encourage her to fight through it while Helen feels frustrated that she isn’t getting anything right.
Back at the house, Khalil Rountree encourages Helen to be strong and think about the fact that she still has a match coming up.
During training, Tatiana talks about how she was ranked number one in the nation in women’s wrestling in 2011 when she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and subsequently had to go through various therapies in order to combat the disease.
She further talks about how the experience strengthened her, how her mother taught her to be a strong woman and how God has given her strength.
JJ Aldrich begins training as well and talks about how she has a black belt in taekwando and how because of her personality, no one believes it when she says she is a MMA fighter.
Back at the house, Khalil and Cory Hendricks decide to have a makeup competition by seeing who can eat the most donuts in five minutes. The loser must get makeup put on by him by the girls of the house and wear a sports bra.
In the actual competition, Hendricks ultimately loses and noting that he forgot that Khalil was a “former fat boy” but because of his bloated feeling he is given time to rest.
Later he is made up and in addition to wearing a sports bra also puts apples in it and is also encouraged to “strut”.
Before the weigh-ins, Joanna begins smack talking to Claudia once again to which Claudia does very little and says in an interview she will simply train and eventually defeat her.
During round one, Tatiana pretty much takes Aldrich down constantly and is able to work some ground and pound. Despite the fact that Aldrich is able to get up and work some striking it’s Tatiana who wins the round.
Round two goes very similar, however she is able to take Aldrich’s back and sink in a rear naked choke to submit her.
For the second men’s match, Claudia chooses Andrew Sanchez to face Team Joanna’s Myron Dennis.
