When T.J. Grant debuted back at UFC 97, he looked like a predator looking for the kill, but he was derailed early in his next fight.

Grant was just a little to small for welterweight, but a move down was not a bad thing at all. Lightweight is obviously Grant’s home and with his dominate win over Gray Maynard last Saturday at UFC 160, Dana White has claimed that he will be Benson Henderson‘s next opponent, and rightfully so.

Some say Grant’s “face” and name isn’t marketable enough to promote a title fight. Dana White even admitted after the fight that Grant needed that impressive win over Maynard to advance to his future title shot.

Whether Grant knew he needed it or not, he went in and did what he does best, which entails not letting the critics get the best of him. Grant’s now on a five fight (undefeated at lightweight) win streak with finishes in 3 of them and two finishes coming in the first round.

If you didn’t know who T.J Grant was before he fought Maynard, you will when they are promoting his main event title fight against lightweight champion Benson Henderson.
