While it is an overall intriguing concept, there are several things to look forward to that the show will reveal. The major topics in question back be sorted into three categories.
Experience From Experts
The hosts are certainly qualified enough for helping people bring their gyms from the brink of failure to success. Couture created his gym Xtreme Couture following his departure from Team Quest and has made it a successful gym with locations around the country. In interviews about the series, Couture has said that he’s learned a few things about running a gym including mistakes and successes. Shamrock has also learned as he also has experience running a gym following his departure from his brother Ken Shamrock‘s Lion’s Den gym. In addition there’ll be other experts joining Shamrock and Couture in assisting gyms owners.
Controversey
There has supposedly been some controversy with the show even before the actual airing has taken place. Previews have shown one gym owner who had a confrontation with Shamrock over his gym. The gym owner in question has also gone onto say that his gym is in fact still struggling. Another accusation he made is that Shamrock made advances towards his wife, possibly onscreen. It’s unknown if these are true or whether the gym owner in question is simply trying to get publicity but this does lead to ratings.
Format
It will be interesting to see how the two legendary hosts go about changing the various gyms. Also the type of gyms and what the issues are should also be interesting to watch as each gym is as different as the owners. The format of Hotels From Hell and Kitchen Nightmares with chief Gordon Ramsey reveal that some of the issues go deeper then simple marketing and other business issues. Some of the problems are personal family or individual issues. Regardless of whether gym rescue is a success or not, it should be some good entertainment and watching at least one episode should be the goal of most MMA fans.
